Publisher's Description
From Bibble:
With Bibble, you can browse and read *.nef files as well as standard .jpegs, manipulate them and save them out as 8 bit Jpegs or 16/8 bit tiffs.
All color calculations are done internally in 16-Bit precision and thus any image manipulations done on any image in Bibble will have superior results to those performed in a standard 8-bit image program.
When browsing images, from your camera, Bibble will display the thumbnails lightning fast. If some of the jpegs in the directory are from other sources, thumbnails for them will be generated "in the background" will you are browsing and the thumbs will appear as they are ready.
Bibble also Supports EXIF shooting data in your files. If shooting date is present, it will be displayed when you open the file. Even better, it will be saved with your modified files! As of now, *most* exif and Nikon specific tags are read and displayed including ones not available in Nikon's programs (Auto Focus mode), Some however I still haven't managed to decode, and these will not be preserved. If this cause any issues in other programs, let me know and I will change it.
Bibble also includes color correction. Using special calibration profiles developed from a Kodak Q60, Bibble can map your photos into a color space that has been corrected for the D1 CCD.
Bibble also includes tone compensation that uses the data found in your .nef files. If the D1 Exposed your photo correctly, Bibble will also...*EVERY* time. Tone compensation can also be overridden to give you cooler images or to really saturate them.
Bibble is also ICC Compliant. On the options menu, you may chose which abstract space you want to work with n Bibble. (I'd recommend sRGB to start). When you save 16 bits files they will be saved in this color space for the most accurate possible editing in other ICC compliant programs. Bibble will also allow you to apply monitor calibration to your images if you have an .icm file for you monitor. Some profiles produce overly bright results. If this happens to you, please use default color correction instead and email the profile to help me fix this issue.
