"DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!"

    May 1, 2011  |   By MacUser256

    Version: Mac DVDRipper Pro 1.6.4

    Pros

Very straight forward and simple user interface.

    Cons

    Everything else.

    Summary

This product is a waste of your time. It claims to do it all, but actually does very little. The only thing this program actually does is break the DVD's encryption and copy it to your hard drive in the basic uncompressed file format. All 8 GBs of it! There are multiple FREE software programs that will do that same thing if that's what you want. Don't waste your money! However, in my opinion, this approach is just a waste of your time and hard drive space because the dvd won't be recognized by ITunes and cannot be played on your ipod/iphone/ipad. If that's what you want, I highly recommend MacX DVD Ripper Pro. This is the program that I personally use to copy my old DVDs (before they had digital copies) on my hard drive in a MP4 format (1.5 GBs) that is compatible with ITunes and can be synced with any apple product. It costs $30, but it will do all of the following steps with a couple clicks of a button: 1.Break DVD Encryption 2. Identify Main Movie File 3. Copy to your Hard Drive and 4. Compress into a MP4 format. All in about an hour (One of the fastest I've found out there and absolutely no problems copying any DVDs) All you have to do is change the file extension to .M4V and move it into your Itunes folder.

"I just wanted my money back!"

    April 1, 2011  |   By danmaria

    Version: Mac DVDRipper Pro 1.6.4

    Pros

None. Product never worked for me.

    Cons

Customer service was terrible. When I requested they honor the money back guarantee they feature prominently on their site, they simply responded repeatedly with tech questions. One of the more frustrating consumer experiences I've had in a while!

    Summary

I wish I listened to the other negative reviews before I wasted my money.

    "Version 2.0.1 Highly Recommneded"

    February 4, 2011  |   By Wolfmore

    Version: Mac DVDRipper Pro 1.6.4

    Pros

I use this all the time to copy my DVD to my Mac. It copies the whole DVD so when you play the files it plays as if you've inserted the DVD.

    Cons

I don't have any problems. I've used this for over 6 month.

    Summary

I use this in conjuction with applicaiton like Handbrake. It works great. Firt I rip the movie to my computer with Mac DVDRipper Pro and then I use Handbrake to convert the movie into a format that will play on mhy iPhone.

I've tried the free apps like Mactheripper and think this is better and for $10 I think is worth it. Example Me Myself & Irene has problems with mactheripper but this app doesnt it copies no problem.

    "Don't waste your money"

    November 29, 2010  |   By rsharber

    Version: Mac DVDRipper Pro 1.6.4

    Pros

This product claims to do it all and flawlessly yet I have had numerous DVD's rip but not be able to burn them as a backup. .

    Cons

Unless you plan on purchasing terabytes of hard disk space for your collection, dont believe their claims that this program will work for you. And yes, I have tried this on multiple Mac's and configurations. It simply isn't what it claims to be

    Summary

This program claims it all, but when it comes down to it it fails. I emailed support and was told he was on vacation (apparently one guy does this ) and never heard back. Multiple DVD's don't play well, and the newer DVD's simply refuse to burn to a backup. This program is not what it appears to be. I only gave it one star because you can't give it less.
