CNET Editors' review
Despite a great selection of games, MVP Solitaire doesn't make the top of our list. The 60 solitaire variations are listed alphabetically on the opening screen, rather than grouped by category or difficulty level. Each game explains its rules in the Help menu, and a few let you change options like redeals when you first open the particular game. The information on how to deal the cards helps you learn how to play these games offline, which is neat. The demo lets you turn the music off, which you'll want to do after hearing the same MIDI tune too many times. You can only change the backgrounds and card backs and fronts in the paid version. Attempting to change them in the demo takes you to a nag screen from which we couldn't always escape. Stability is the weakest point of the program, in fact, with one outright crash. While the Auto Game Over function seems to work, a hints function would help. MVP Solitaire appeals to the beginner solitaire player, but advanced players may want more options.Publisher's Description
