You'll enjoy using MSN Pictures Displayer to personalize your instant messenger window, although the program hung and slowed our test PC's response time.
The busy interface is well-structured to easily browse and select images to include in your Messenger picture display as a timed slide show. Setting the program to display pictures in random or selected order is simple, and we were able to determine the lag time between images. The application can even swap images when your Messenger status is set to offline, busy, and so on.
Even though you can click an image's file name to preview pictures, thumbnails would have made selections a lot smoother. Unfortunately, while testing MSN Pictures Displayer, our PC slowed to a snail's pace while making picture selections. In many instances, the program dawdled when given a mouse-click command to open files or add images to the slideshow. Though your patience may grow weary, this free program still is a great way to keep your Messenger conversation window fresh.

You can install an update checker to verify twice a month if there are some updates on the Web site. You can convert slideshows to/from animated Gifs. Version 4.6 has serious bug fixed due to a windows update for Windows XP (KB946648).
