MSConfig Cleanup for Windows

Used MSConfig Cleanup for Windows?

Don't let its simple appearance fool you; this application effectively removes unwanted entries from Windows' start-up program list. Unlike Windows' system config, this program not only disables or enables selected entries, it also removes them completely from the list. MS Config Cleanup directly scans your computer and displays entries from the start-up program list. You may not be impressed by this tool's straightforward interface, but it will surely help you remove those pesky unwanted program entries easily and effectively. We find this freeware useful and best suited to advanced users, since novices might remove sensitive items from the system's start-up program list.

Great for Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP Operating Systems!
roxgr8February 22, 2014
Pros
Works as advertised in removing unwanted start-up items in msconfig for the recommended operating systems .
Cons
Needs to be updated to include Windows 7 & 8 Operating Systems.
Summary
Works as advertised for Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP Operating Systems. All the negative reviews I read were downloading the program to their Windows 7 or above Operating Systems in which it was not meant for. I subtracted two stars for the fact that MSConfig Cleanup has not added any updates to include the Windows 7 or above Operating Systems.
DOESN'T WORK AND YOU GET GARBARGE YOU DIDN'T WANT

Pros
Nothing is good.
Cons
EVERYTHING - On top of not working, during the download I clicked cancel on anything not part of this program but still got Serach protect, connect toolbars, and outobox. (Plus they hijacked my home page in mozilla).
Summary
Ran the scan... told me you don't have any startup items disabled. Well Yeah, that's why I downloaded this! Tell me my start up program and what things are needed and what can be deleted.
Does not work

Pros
There are no pros since the program does not do what it advertises.
Cons
There are eleven disabled startup programs listed in msconfig, but this program could not find any of them, instead saying there were no disabled programs!
Summary
Simply does not do what it advertised in Windows 7 64 bit.
A great free utiliy.

Pros
It removes the disabled msconfig Startup commands entries. Removing these entries seems to help keep them from auto-enabling again in my experience. It has worked on XP Pro, Vista Home Prem, and now Win 7 Pro for me.
Cons
I have found none yet.
Summary
Works great and satisfies my ocd need to keep my system uncluttered.
Useful and free!

Summary
Does the job without any problems.

Summary

jfheff7March 5, 2008
Pros
no frills just displays the invalid msconfig entries and lets you delete them
Cons
Summary
Too good is irreversible
WeparicuaJanuary 9, 2008
Pros
It effectively eliminates the msconfig entries
Cons
It also eliminates the msconfig access through the "Run" command, even after uninstalling, so i am condemned to reinstall it as a substitute to msconfig
Summary
It did nothing

Pros
Cons
Nothing to fix or report ... strange for any diagnostic software program.
