MP3 Doctor is an editing tool that lets you check, modify, and improve all your MP3s and WAVs in several ways. You can repair imperfect songs or modify them with TRIM, EQUALIZE, RESAMPLE, and a very efficient and improved NORMALIZE feature, and more (stretch, pitch, mp3 to karaoke...). The goal is to let you maintain a similar quality, volume and sound on all your existing MP3s and discover a new quality for you mp3 files.
In addition, it comes with encode and decode options (MP3 to WAV / WAV to MP3). You can modify hundreds of files with one click using 'Batch' mode or use 'Single' mode to process one file at time. In addition it can handle ID tags of MP3 files.

I was looking for some app to check the integrity of the mp3 files and it seems this stuff haves more than a simple checkup. it�s a shame to be unsure about the virus stuff

Well i checked the faq to contact download.com staff but as always on every site avoided by almost every meaning and make it the most difficult thing to try, i just wanted to inform that the NOD 32 detects this stuff as NewHeur_PE virus
i don�t care about the false positive stuff, enough to me, an alert is signal of danger and i�m not searching the web about it., but i�m giving the try to inform about this and if the staff check the posts then i hope they get noticed about this. -

Crashes with Vista inspite of the "Mp3Doctor PRO is compatible with XP and Vista" marketing gimmick on the www.mp3doctor.com site.
Summary
- The software is buggy with Vista, not sure about XP since I don't have it.
- Only loads one song at a time, crashes when you want to load more than one song
- Customer service is a joke (should've none something was off when I got technical support with the yahoo email address.)
- Save your money do not purchase.

It installed several highly aggressive backdoor trojans in the temp folder. I'm still trying to get them off as we speak. DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS PROGRAM!

normalize does not work at all there was no change in file on my first attempt the other two times I tried it had an error and the resulting file did not function at all.

The only things that this program are good for are ID3's and minor normalizing adjustments.

Batch mode doesn't work very often. Unanswered e'mails for program support and to get new keys. Would like another system so that I don't have to hassle with getting a new key. The sound quality is often lacking. The price. There are other much better programs that are 20x this one is for not much more. I could go on.....

GUI of the program looked nice

GUI didn't work like other apps. No drag-n-drop of files to fix. Batch mode is uncomprehensible without patiently reading the manual over and over. Resampling or converting to WAV and back to MP3 did not fix glitches and bad data spots in the MP3 file -- it just duplicated them. I expected at least detection of junk and maybe the ability to "cut" it or average it between start and end data or something.
This proggie may rip and burn fine, but it shouldn't be listed as a "Doctor", since it can't diagnose or fix real problems.
Glad there was a skimpy try-b4-buy mode, so at least I didn't feel ripped off.
