Version: MP3 WAV Editor 2.4
"Very useful, with a few annoying quirks"
Pros: This program was very great in that it let me edit down my wav files (for example, movie quotes) to get just the bit I wanted. It will also let you splice different things together.
Cons: You can only edit mp3 files, although it does include a converter so you can convert your wavs into mp3s. Also it doesn't let you change the file name when you do something. For example, I have a long audio file which I want to turn into several short files of different parts. Each time I edit it down and save one of these bits, it saves it with the exact same name as the original file (although I can choose to put it in a different folder). This is very annoying and can be confusing.

"Great for spliting MP3 files, but sadly the trail limits you to 20"
Pros: Very good quality and easy to understand.
Cons: You can only process 20 files, and then it askes for payment

Version: MP3 WAV Editor 2.4
Pros: Easy enough interface to use
Cons: Despite the interface providing minutes:seconds:hundredths it proved to be inaccurate at moving to the hundredths specified. It may be just with longer MP3 files. The one I was working with was a 17.5Mb file (for an 18 minute long song) and I was trying to get to a point at 02:58:60 (or thereabouts) but found it was jumping well over the single hundredths I was changing the start time to.

Version: MP3 WAV Editor 2.4
Pros: Simple and to the point. Start/stop can be selected by sliders, or times can be directly entered.
Cons: No visual representation of audio file (start/stop times have to be determined in another music player).

"Does what you want it to but not straightforward!!"
Pros: A good trial version. Can edit 20 mp3s before you have to commit. I myself will be registering for a full copy
Cons: A little messy at first. Good once you have found your way round it.
