From Thomas Gugler:Organize your MP3 files in minimum of time with MP3 Observer. Browse your hard drive or other storage devices for files, import them into the database, edit the ID3 tags, check and repair mp3 files, create playlists, export the database, or create CD archives. You can automatically import any type of file and open it with your associated file viewer. Also provide are an integrated Shoutcast Stream Capture, a CD ripper, a BPM counter, and an MP3 encoder/decoder. MP3 Observer Home is the free version of MP3 Observer Pro and has slightly fewer features.

Version: MP3 Observer Home 3.0
Pros: Launches the first time just fine
Cons: Trying to launch the program after the first time fails, claims to have repair functions which I can't find, support and info email addresses bounce back when attempted.

Version: MP3 Observer Home 3.0
"Dreamware - Only good for initial shot, then dies and MUST be reinstalled."
Pros: Excellent user interface. Can see data in table AND in single-record form on the same screen, along with directory tree structure.
Can sort on any column, and can relocate columns to suit your needs.
Reads Musicmatch proprietary tags!!
Cons: When MP3 Observer HOME appears in a Google search results listing, it is sometimes accompanied by a "malicious software" warning.
Cannot add or change fields. This means you cannot add a field for some information important to you.
The Access MDB file contains only the data table - no query, input or report forms.
Support for the HOME version of this application does not exist, so think twice before buying the PRO version.
Unfortunately, even with MDAC 2.8 installed and active on the computer, this program dies after it is closed the first time. From that point on, it causes a runtime error -0 (whatever that means) and crashes.
Development appears to have stopped in 2003. The PRO version costs $9.95 at one site, and $29 at another. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Use the HOME version to capture your mp3 files into an Access table, close MP3 Observer, then load the mp3s.mdb file into Access or Excel to process it.

Version: MP3 Observer Home 3.0
Pros: It looks great and easy to use But....
Cons: It doesnt work long enouf for you to find out. The install screen give you the option to download the "microsoft data access components" which it said I already had. But after the first two songs it wouldn't continue to work and after I exited I couldn't get it to get past an "Error 0" message and after looking in the files nothing was ever changed. What it does is take up your time and is annoying the only good thing is that when you uninstall it, it actually uninstalls YAY!!
