Publisher's description
From University of Tennessee :LorsCommand provide access to 20 TB of public, sharable storage around the world. This storage is available on a time-limited basis. LorsCommand allows users to upload data to IBP depots and receive an XML file, called an exNode, that contains the keys to the stored data. The user can use the exNode to download the data at a later time or the user can email the exNode to another person who can then download the data. This is part of a research project by the Logistical Computing and Internetworking Lab at the University of Tennessee.
The storage is hosted on Internet2-connected sites around the US and in 20 countries around the world. This software is primarily for the use of researchers at Internet2-connected universities and organizations. Users, who do not have access to Internet2-connected networks, can still use the software, but their performance will be considerably lower than the performance on Internet-connected networks.
LorsCommand contains the command line LoRS tools and a Tcl/Tk GUI for the command line averse. It requires the Aqua version of Tcl/Tk.
What's new in this version:
- Handles IBP depots with IP addresses for hostname in GUI better
- Bug fixes
- Better handling of large files (over 2 GB)
- Added AES encryption
- Downloads will automatically resume when the previous download left off (in case of timeout or an incomplete download)
