- Version reviewed: LinkyCat 1.21
Greatly enhancing Windows Favorites, LinkyCat helps organize bookmarks in your Web browser, but it only works with Internet Explorer and Opera. The program adds two icons at the top of browser windows: one is used to quickly bookmark the page you're currently browsing and the other opens LinkyCat's main window. The interface may be on the plain side, but it offers an easy way to organize your favorites that beats the Windows tool in flexibility. You manage bookmarks using a folder tree, which allows you to quickly create new folders or bookmarks and organize them into categories. We also like the program's ability to automatically retrieve bookmark data, including name, comments, and keywords. The software also has the ability to search and sort bookmarks by name, URL, or comments, although the former is available only after registration. The Export and Import features worked well in our tests, but you're only allowed 100 bookmarks during the trial. LinkyCat will suit anyone using IE or Opera who needs to manage their oft-used links.
