STAY AWAY FROM THIS HICK "COMPANY" !!
It's just a guy in a shack in Tennessee with a 9-year-old Mac writing software that will disrupt your life. Do not install this, if you know what's good for you. Actually, that's stereotypical speculation, but nevertheless STAY AWAY.
One of their app installers uses SVN to contact svn.ffmpeg.org on TCP port 3690 behind your back while installing (MCS Utilities).
Also, I just spent the past half-hour going through every page of this "company's" website to try to contact them to obtain an uninstaller, and they still have not listed the information they promised to post over a month ago at http://www.versiontracker.com/php/feedback/article.php?story=20091107082020135.
They also do not list any contact info anywhere on their website except for a Murfreesboro, Tennessee phone number somewhat hidden on one of the pages DEEP within the website. I called it, and there's an anonymous voicemail message stating NO NAME that sounded like a half-drunk high school dropout house painter -- NOT like a legitimate "high quality tech support and small business consulting" firm.
Lastly, they post their QuickTime Player X Preference Pane TWICE on VersionTracker! How hard is it to fill out a VersionTracker post?
Their website: http://megabytecomp.com/apps.aspx
Their website's ridiculous "About Us" statement:
"Megabyte Computing Solutions was established in January 2009 as a joint venture between two IT firms, Megabyte Computer and Coastside PC. Coastside PC was located in Half Moon Bay, California, about 30 miles south of San Francisco on the coastside. Clients included everyone from home users and startup companies to small business looking to revamp their existing network infrastructure. After serving the San Francisco peninsula for 4 years, Coastside PC decided to move its business to Murfreesboro, Tennessee and merge with another local business, Megabyte Computer. Together, they formed Megabyte Computing Solutions, and now serve the growing demand for high quality tech support and small business consulting in the Middle Tennessee area."
