Publisher's description
From Stethographics :Lung sounds provide important information in the diagnosis and monitoring of the clinical course of patients with lung disorders. This learning and reference guide is intended for everyone interested in clinical medicine, particularly students and residents in medicine, nursing and respiratory care, as well as those in physician assistant, emergency care, and nurse practitioner programs. Quick Access to These Important Lung SoundsBronchialVesicularFine Crackles Coarse CracklesWheezesSquawksRhonchiPleural RubStridorThese sounds can be rapidly accessed from the software?s opening page. Each sound is first described followed by the sound?s recording. These lung sounds are played and visualized simultaneously, which allows one to quickly learn to associate abnormal lung sounds with their characteristic visual patterns.Visual Objective Aid for AuscultationTime amplitude plots of lung sounds are presented in two ways: expanded or unexpanded. The unexpanded method is similar to a phonocardiogram time amplitude display. This allows an overall view of the acoustic characteristics in real time. In the time expanded analysis the time or x-axis is stretched out so that details of the acoustic phenomena can be examined more carefully. The Ideal Learning and Reference Tool Teaches essential lung sounds identificationComplements listening with objective, visual informationServes as a quick reference in clinical settingsSummarizes clinical significance of lung soundsWritten by Leading Experts in Lung Sounds, Pulmonary Medicine and NursingThe Learning Lung Sounds Pocket Edition includes explanations by leading specialist on lung sounds R.L.H. "As good as Dr Murphy's lectures"
Summary: I attended a breath sounds lecture at our hospital. This Pocket PC software is an excellent reminder of the lessons learned and it presents the information in an original way.
-
Version: Learning Lung Sounds Pocket Edition 1.0
Summary: I recently tried a beta copy of Learning Lung Sounds on a fellow Vet Med's Pocket PC. It was fantastic - to be able to instantly hear (and see) a crackle, and then be able to compare it to animal sounds.
-

"Innovative Multimedia Medical Education"
Summary: As a nursing student, I found this course on lung sounds to be outstanding. The writing was concise and clear. And the sound and visual display of patient's breath sounds were amazing.
