The concept is simple: plug-in your power cord and lock your computer, and any attempt to steal the computer or any peripheral device (external harddrive, smartphone, etc.) triggers a loud, unmutable alarm. In the event of attempted theft, LaptopSentry safeguards your important files by immediately emailing them to you upon alarm activation. You will also receive instant notification of alarm activation via SMS text message. While LaptopSentry greatly reduces the changes of laptop theft, LaptopSentry also aids in the recovery of stolen laptops by emailing any IP address used to access the Internet from the stolen laptop. Because IP addresses contain geographical information, this feature greatly increases the chance of recovering the computer. With LaptopSentry, you no longer have to worry about your computer or other devices while you run to the bathroom, drink machine, or step away to speak with a friend.

"Useful, low-impact, easy to use."
Pros: Negligible impact on processing. Simple to setup and exceedingly easy to use. Will certainly deter theft.
Cons: Nothing at this point.

Pros: I had a laptop stolen in the past, and even I will leave my computer unattended with this program, as the customizable alarm allowed me to record a deep voice saying "REPLACE THE CORD, THE POLICE HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED!" What thief would continue?
Cons: Without a setup wizard, I had to click through each of the settings pages. While this was not difficult, I could have missed a particular setting. I would like to see a setup wizard added.

"A Car Alarm for your Laptop."
Pros: I tested it, and it works as described. Great help function. No impact on processing.
Cons: Shell integration would be a plus.
