I have several bilingual dictionaries on my computer and this one is probably the easiest to use, thanks to the contextual menu that is integrated in any application, always available and always ready.
You can be working on a document or reading an article and when you're curious about a sentence, you just have to type it in the little window, or call the context menu and voilà ! You never have to minimize your document to open the dictionary! I'm loving it! -

I teach Spanish, do Spanish/English translations and am a life-time learner/lover of the language. After doing a lot of research, I purchased jalada's Language Alchemist 5 years ago. Their dictionaries were the very best then, and still are number 1! As we know, there is no dictionary that has every single word and phrase in a language, but Language Alchemist has the most useful features and the most words. This dictionary needs to be your foundation. Maybe buy a couple of others to help with those really obscure words, but jalada's Language Alchemist will be your rock of Gibraltar! -

Multilingual dictionary with more than 20 languages. Integrated in nearly any Mac application such as Safari, Preview, Keynote or Pages. Dictionary could be expanded through pluggable and customized dictionaries.
Cons
Microsoft Office integration could be better.
Summary
I can only say, it's the best language tool for your Apple Macintosh Computer. It is very easy to use through the context menu integration. For my translation needs french<->english and german<->english there is no better wordbook on the Mac.

I can't get it to consistently search for translations. I type in a Russian word and it gets no English results. I change it to translate Russian to Spanish and it turns up a result, and I can even change it back to Russian to English and it does give me a result this time. Also, the contextual menus don't actually appear in any of the applications that I've activated.
There are clearly some user interface bugs that prevent this application from consistently working. I shouldn't have to figure out work-arounds to get the application to behave. Nice idea, but this application performs too inconsistently for me to recommend. -
