Publisher's description of Landscape Studio
Landscape Studio aims to give the user far more control over terrain generation. By making use of several unique technologies it provides a far greater management of both minute and general details over commercial solutions. The program uses a tabbed workspace, allowing the user to work on several projects at once (ala Firefox's tabbed browsing). Terrain Application Mapping is a unique method of generation that applies fractal randomness to a pre-designed height map, based on an application map.
You may create your own terrain generation algorithms, importers, exporters, and plug-ins using Java. Export to several formats including RAW and TER, easily loaded into Terragen where available. Version 0.3 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

"Easy to use but not really 3D landscape"
Pros: Trial version has a good selection of features to choose from.
Cons: No tools for mapping terrain features such as hills, valleys and sloped surfaces.
Summary: Good product if the site you're working with is completely flat.
