This CD ripper costs nothing and does what it promises, though you shouldn't expect anything fancy. The tongue-twistingly named K.R.A.C - KoYoTe Rip Audio CD can only extract tracks as WAVs or MP3s, neglecting other popular audio formats. We also missed support for the space-efficient VBR scheme when working with MP3s. On the plus side, the utility's interface isn't likely to baffle anyone, as it boasts icons for retrieving track information from the Web, choosing audio formats, and starting the actual ripping process. In our tests, we found the app turned out speedy performance, although we were miffed to find its built-in player was totally nonfunctional. Still, we did appreciate the tool for converting files between MP3 and WAV formats. Beginners on a budget will find this download appealing, although we hope the publisher fixes the bug with the audio player.
