Version: Kernel for NTFS 4.02
Pros: demo worked great
Cons: At this point the company is a con in my book. They advertise 24 hour support, they advertise IMMEDIATE sending of download link and activation code, on their site. I purchased it about 2.75 hours ago...3 or 4 emails to them, and no reply. no link, no activation code, no support, no nothing. The email from element 5(receipt) states I will receive the link and code within 48 hours..very contradictory. I need to recover some files today, not 48 hours from now. If they had not advertised immediate receipt of code and link after I paid for it I would have bought elsewhere. I am on the verge of disputing on credit card and going with another company. the 24 hour support and immediate delivery are lies. I have saved the pages advertising both as proof in case they are needed in dispute.

Version: Kernel for NTFS 4.02
"This software was a life saver...LITERALLY!!"
Pros: I had 80GB of mp3's on my new, 200GB, Maxtor One Touch 11, external hard drive when a power outage made the drive unrecognizable to my computer. I have an emachines computer and am running XP Home. Maxtor told me to initialize the drive but that I would lose everything. That was not a viable option for me. The Maxtor rep then said that there was software out there that might help retrieve the data even if my computer can't read the drive...THIS IS THE STUFF!!! I downloaded the demo and immediately saw all the files I wanted to save. I then bought the full version and now have everything back!! The only drawback if you want to call it that was that it took 24 hours to save all 80GB. $50.00 and I got everything back...YAY!!

Version: Kernel for NTFS 4.02
"don't bother unless you want to waste time and money"
Pros: -cheaper than some others
Cons: -limited success recoving data (exact same data recovered quicker and more easily with other programs).
-bad interface
-note this program is apparently sold with various names varying on theme 'kernel for NTFS/FAT' bewareSummary: Tried full version for crucial data recovery: Took 1-2 hours to complete standard scan, then program would repeatedly cease when trying to recover files. Tried GetDataBack also which completed quick scan in 3min and recovered ALL data flawlessly wit... read more >>
