CNET Editors' review
KeePass Password Safe Professional provides a helpful directory for remembering passwords and keeping them secure. While its layout was slightly confusing, its excellent results made us very happy, and to top it off, it's free.
The program's interface has a stark, directionless layout that initially turned us off. However, a visit to the Help file's instructions and some experimenting quickly opened this program up, and it actually proved to be easy to use. The program's functionality is quite simple: Follow an onscreen menu to enter a Web site's information and its corresponding user name and password. This entry is stored in an alphabetical directory with all your other entries, much like a digital filing card system. You can look up any forgotten password stored there, which will inevitably save a great deal of time and frustration. You must enter a Master password to open the program, which keeps your sensitive information safe from prying eyes and adds an overall level of security. KeePass also provided a strong feature that randomly generates passwords to meet specific security requirements, offering yet another way to secure your data and activities. KeePass might have offered a clearer layout, but its ability to generate, store and retrieve passwords was excellent. Use it, and you won't have to keep using the same passwords over and over again, just to remember them. Unwise.
KeePass Password Safe Professional is freeware. Its strengths at saving passwords outweigh any negatives, and we recommend this excellent security tool to all users.
Publisher's Description
From Dominik Reichl:
KeePass is a free password manager which helps you to manage your passwords in a secure way. You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key-disk. So you only have to remember one single master password or insert the key-disk to unlock the whole database. Databases are encrypted using very secure encryption algorithms (AES and Twofish).
What's new in this version: Version 2.15 has added option to limit the number of history items per entry (the default is 10) and enhanced 1Password Pro importer to also support 1PW CSV files.

"Password Generator and Safe"
Version: KeePass Password Safe Professional 2.15
Pros
Free
Generates passwords of the length and strength desired
Maintains passwords in password-protected file
Allows for expiration of passwords and warns of approaching dates.
Remembers user names and sites.Cons
None of which I am aware.
Summary
I sought this program when an auditor complained that I was not changing passwords often enough. I wanted strong password protection, but did not want to remember 12Ac~~%ff$_... for one of the many sites I visited and a similar password for others. This lets me create an extremely strong unique password for each need without requiring that I remember it.
It also lets me store PINs and similar material. -
"Simplest way to keep your passwords"
Version: KeePass Password Safe Professional 2.15
Pros
1. Portable
2. Simple to use
3. Password expiration option
Over all I liked this product. Since I have a lot of different passwords I have to remember, I found this tool a great asset when it comes to securely getting to those passwords.Cons
1. Does not intutively use the auto-paste with any other application than mstsc.exe.
2. Can you use the program in full screen mode with two monitors. Must use windows mode for all applications.Summary
This is a great product for anyone that has a lot of passwords to remember. The program itself requires you to have a password to log into it, so the only password you have to remember is that one. All your other passwords are secure and hidden even when you open up the line item. Keeps passwords safe if others are looking.
The auto password generator is another great feature. Tired of remembering all the passwords with specuial characters, upper case, etc. This solves that for you. It can create 40, 128 and 256 Hex Key's for longer and more intricate passwords. No need to remember the password though. Once it is saved all you have to do is a simple CTRL+V and you are in. -
"Free, easy, strong password generator and keeper"
Version: KeePass Password Safe Professional 2.15
Pros
Has a great customizable password generator, and helps prevent you from using a single password for all your accounts.
Cons
Having a 25 digit randomized password of unrelated numbers, letters and characters means you probably won't be able to check your email on your friend's computer.

"Seems pretty good so far!"
Version: KeePass Password Safe Professional 2.15
Pros
Very simple to add, delete and arrange things. There is a space for notes which is really hay also.
Cons
I can't seem to export the data to a text file, but I'm supposing that's just me. I would prefer that the passwords created were locked somehow, because it's pretty easy to accidentally delete part of them.
Summary
If you have a few ebay accounts, you will understand why you need this! Every account needs a separate email account and things become very confusing. It's really for anyone who buys or subscribes to things online... all the different sites... the different passwords, usernames etc. This is an excellent way to keep everything in order.

Summary
Great program.
