Protecting your computer from viruses is not something to take lightly, so we're glad to say Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal Pro does a reasonable job of keeping your PC safe. We like this application's unique features that protect Microsoft Office applications, as well as the new utilities for safeguarding archived files.
The interface divides the app's functionality into three main areas: Protection, Settings, and Support. The Protection tab offers the meat of the features, with tools for scanning drives, downloading the latest virus definitions, quarantining offenders, archiving, and generating reports. The Settings tab supplies a number of options for configuring the level of protection, scheduling events, tailoring the interface, or adjusting the program's behavior to your liking. The Support tab also gives you some nice features, including a virus encyclopedia and an option for sending the app's developers a questionable file for analysis.
Recently, Kaspersky has been slightly outperformed in catching threats and we find the price to be a bit steep. All told, though, Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal Pro's combination of tools and features make it an excellent choice for personal use.
Publisher's description
From Kaspersky Lab :Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 is the complete Internet security protection with anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-phishing, anti-spam and anti-hacker technologies. Plus parental controls and virtual keyboard perfect for home or small office. Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 includes the Application Filtering, Proactive Defense and Firewall components which together implement a new integrated approach to protecting the system against threats known and unknown. Kaspersky Internet Security now requires considerably less input from the user, due to the use of lists of trusted applications ("white-lists"). Scanning the operating system and installed software to detect and eliminate vulnerabilities, maintains a high system security level and prevents hazardous programs penetrating your system. The new Security Analyzer and Browser Configuration wizards facilitate scanning for, and the elimination of, security threats and vulnerabilities in the installed applications, and in the configuration of the operating system and browser. Kaspersky Lab now reacts more quickly to new threats through the use of the Kaspersky Security Network, which gathers data about the infection of users' computers and sends it to Kaspersky Lab's servers.
Version 8.0.0.506 includes the Application Filtering, Proactive Defense, and Firewall components which together implement a new integrated approach to protecting the system against threats known and unknown.

"I STILL Do Not Understand Why PPl Worship This!"
Pros: Detection Rate is Superb
Cons: *Interface not well organized
*Slow Scans
*No Browser Toolbar (hidden protection though)
*PriceySummary: Granted, this program is good at blocking infections. However, ALOT of programs have the same detection rate and also do NOT have all those cons.
PPL Recommend this program 10 out of 10 times on Yahoo Answers, I do not see why.
