Protecting your computer from viruses is not something to take lightly, so we're glad to say Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal Pro does a reasonable job of keeping your PC safe. We like this application's unique features that protect Microsoft Office applications, as well as the new utilities for safeguarding archived files.
The interface divides the app's functionality into three main areas: Protection, Settings, and Support. The Protection tab offers the meat of the features, with tools for scanning drives, downloading the latest virus definitions, quarantining offenders, archiving, and generating reports. The Settings tab supplies a number of options for configuring the level of protection, scheduling events, tailoring the interface, or adjusting the program's behavior to your liking. The Support tab also gives you some nice features, including a virus encyclopedia and an option for sending the app's developers a questionable file for analysis.
Recently, Kaspersky has been slightly outperformed in catching threats and we find the price to be a bit steep. All told, though, Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal Pro's combination of tools and features make it an excellent choice for personal use.

"What an anti-virus is supposed to be."
Pros: I cant say enough about Kaspersky Labs. This program finds all viruses and most spyware, and get this..It actually removes them!! Kaspersky has a new Prototype (Not Beta, not Alpha) but a PROTOTYPE available for download. It is extremely sad when a Prototype out performs the competition by a landslide. What an embarassment for Symantec and PC Cillin, to see a Prototype outperform a final release.
Cons: My only concern is that kaspersky used to be only for people "In the know" and was only popular in underground forums. I just hope that I do not start seeing Kaspersky commercial ads on C|net, PC Mag and others. Keep it as it is. I would hate to see Kaspersky develop a Utilities Suite or a password keeper or some other garbage utility. Although as ironic as it would be, it would probably be revolutionary. Leave it to the Russians.

"Great antivirus, the best IMO."
Pros: This antivirus is complete, has a great detection rate (probably the best available), it doesn't use as many resources as say Mcafee, or Norton would, and it also updates several times a day.
Cons: None that I can think of

"Recommended to my best friend"
Summary: I am a software developer for many years but not involved with Antivirus products. During the past two weeks, I evaluated Avast Pro, AVG 7 Pro, Bitdefender 8, PCcillin, Panda and F-Prot while being a long-time NOD32 user. All of them had a couple of... read more >>

Pros: This is the best antivir I have found. Love it. Cleaned most of the viruses norton and avg left behind. Even cleaned some spyware before I ran kaspersky. Great, i suggest anyone who likes it buys it.
Cons: Slow and memory hoggy. Don't run with a lot of programs open.
