The K-Lite Mega Codec Pack is designed as an user-friendly solution for playing all your movie files. With K-Lite Codec Pack you should be able to play all the popular audio and video formats and even some rare formats.
K-Lite Mega Codec Pack includes codecs for the most popular compressions like Divx and Xvid as well as some of the less popular but still necesary codecs. It also includes Quicktime and Realplayer codecs. Version 4.2.5 adds Media Player Classic Home Cinema version 1.1.843, updates Media Player Classic to version 6.4.9.1 rev. 82, and ffdshow to revision 2202.

Pros: Haven't noticed any improvements.
Cons: Since there were no noticeable improvements, was there a reason to install these?
Summary: No noticeable difference when running usual files. Same can't open file messages, etc.

Pros: It has all the codecs...
Cons: Keeps trying to phone home, even after I opted out of auto-updates during set-up and continually subverts the "remember setting" function of Comodo Firewal. I don't need it that bad. Hello MPC-HC!
Summary: I need another belligerent phone-home app like I need another Vista OS.
