When we were able to run Jetico Personal Firewall successfully, it worked like a charm, but unpredictability and an obtuse interface drag the program down. Pluses include the ability to finely tune the utility's behavior and save settings for quick installation on multiple computers. However, the program's interface is far from intuitive. Those lacking Internet security experience will be lost, especially since the program doesn't configure settings automatically for common applications such as browsers and instant-messaging programs. How should the average user reply to the prompt svchost.exe is attempting to communicate with the Internet. Should this be permitted? ? No tutorials exist to guide you through the configuration process either. The program has a short memory when it comes to authorization: it will ask your permission again and again about the same application. Jetico Personal Firewall is probably best suited for experienced users without the need for guidance.

Jetico Personal Firewall protects your computer from hackers, viruses, trojan programs, other external and internal threats to your computer and your data. Three levels of protection are included: low-level network packets filtering, application-level network events filtering and filtering of user-level process activity. With JPF you may check every packet that comes in or out of your computer and specify what programms are allowed to run.
