During installation, you have to be careful if you don't want to set JetAudio Basic as the default application for audio and video files. However, the freeware application gives you plenty of reasons to make it your only player. The interface has a modern design that looks like an equalizer. You can customize each section of the program, from CD ripping to format conversion, to your heart's content. The program can convert files among some a number of formats, as well as read and edit MP3 tags. The built-in Cross-fader, Reverb, and Wide-sound modes provide a nice touch not found in most MP3 players. The program becomes truly unique with its clock, however, which features a timer and an alarm. We also appreciate the inclusion of a tool for seeking out song lyrics. Our only quibble is it treats a playlist as an album but uses the artist as its primary key field, making it difficult to locate mixes. "Sorry, no AAC/AAC+, gotta go with Winamp Pro"
Pros: Looks like a nice interface compared to Winamp.
Cons: I can't confirm it supports AAC/AAC+... There site makes no reference to it. I like OGG, but my iPod supports AAC which sounds superb compared to MP3. Winamp is great. Who encodes to Mp3 Pro... Why bother. I'll look again if they ever support AAC/AAC+.

"cnet's editor's pick with 5 stars - dead on !"
Pros: this player rules. period. end of discussion. jet audio is the finishing touch to my amd 4400+ dual-core, soundblaster audigy, boston acoustics 4.1 system. it rocks ! i've downloaded jet audio many times for different pc's and different installations. it's always been absolutely fabulous.
Cons: no help files or index for help, so i had to figure out where the repeat mode option was. it's on the player, not in the menu options. things like that detract from the 5 star rating to give it 5 stars still. that's how awesome this player is.

Pros: Nice interface, very professional looking, lots of features.
Cons: Will only convert 30 seconds of video, making it useless as a video converter unless you deal only in snippets.

"Most Well Rounded Desktop Audio/Video Player"
Pros: Surpasses windows media for functality (it can not only play all files it can be used to convert them, including real player files into any format you like, especially before CD burning).
it runs more efficiently than winamp. and it gives more information about files. it works with its own internet radio stations and with shoutcast. it also has "jetcast" which allows you to broadcast radio programs from your home computer
Cons: none really. the skins are limited. but aside from this, which is purely comestic, its really very nice.

"Solid program but must upgrade for certain features"
Pros: Solid program with clean interface and other nice features as noted in other reviews.
Cons: I downloaded this program to convert some videos. After download I learned that you can only convert 30 seconds of video without upgrading to the Plus version or purchasing a video convert extension pack. This was not mentioned in any of the product's description I saw.
