During installation, you have to be careful if you don't want to set JetAudio Basic as the default application for audio and video files. However, the freeware gives you plenty of reasons to make it your only player. The interface has a modern design that looks like an equalizer. You can customize each section of the program, from the CD ripping to the format conversion, to your heart's content. The program can convert files among some 10 formats, as well as read and edit MP3 tags. The built-in Cross-fader, Reverb, and Wide-sound modes provide a nice touch not found in most MP3 players. The program becomes truly unique with its clock, however, which features a timer and an alarm. We also appreciate the inclusion of a tool for seeking out song lyrics. Our only quibble is that it treats a playlist as an album but uses the artist as its primary key field, making it difficult to locate mixes. Not only does it play various music and video files, it also has features such as CD burning, recording, and conversion to other file formats. You can create your own Internet broadcast by using JetCast, provided with JetAudio, and you can play all major file formats, including WAV, MP3, MP3Pro, OGG, WMA, MPEG, AVI, WMV, MIDI, RM, and video and audio CD tracks. Convert among audio file formats, and record analog audio to various formats.
The program features visualization plug-ins, including Sound2Vision; tag editing for MP3, OGG, and WMA files; sound effects including wide, reverb, and x-bass; multi-channel sound output; speed control of audio playback; cross-fading for a smooth transition between two songs; a skinnable user interface; and synchronized lyrics display (karaoke) for MIDI and MP3 files. Version 6.2.1 supports various kinds of source file formats (playable through DirectShow).

Pros: I like everything...the sound, the features, love it all. To me its better than winamp...winamp gets all choppy in some spots...this player's sound quality is excellent and has no spots of choppiness...
Cons: nothing that I could think of. Mabey the size, but whats 15 megs theses days?

"Fantastic Sound!!! Puts Itunes to shame!"
Pros: Sound! Takes a grainy poor MP3 and plays it flawlessly. I run two Phase Linear 400's through a PL4000 with a HiFI link (USB) connecting the puter and was using Itunes for a long time. Too long, as it turns out. I don't know how it does it, but it does and it does it very well. Unreal sound!
Cons: File sorting is a bit rough to get around in. Can't sort well by title and sometimes the artist escapes me. I will just have to learn the players better. Small inconvenience for this great player!

Pros: Was using Winamp decided to go on for a change and saw this player listed on download.com.
Great player, i like the whole design and the lyrics display option and the entire approach of this player.
