Sure, the fun in browsing YouTube is coming across all the crazy videos that people put out there. But when you need to find something very specific, it can be a pain trying to weed through all the content that doesn't pertain to the video you're looking for. Jasmine YouTube Client gives users a way to quickly find what they're looking for, and all in a streamlined, functional package. We tested it on our iPad with Retina Display.
Jasmine offers a pane-style interface. The first pane offers a search field for finding specific content. There is a Browse feature if you have more time on your hands. We inputted our topic and, immediately, another pane appeared next to the first with a long list of videos that were on target. Tapping a particular video introduces another pane, where you have the option of playing it, checking out related videos or videos from the same author, adding comments, and adding it to your Favorites or to a playlist. There's also a Share feature to email, message, or copy it. We pushed Play and the video took over our screen and played without a hitch. Jasmine's Settings menu lets you modify the app's appearance and adjust playback. If you want to apply parental settings for younger eyes, you'll have to pony up for the Pro version, but as-is, the app is a fine one.
If you're looking for a way through the YouTube clutter, Jasmine is a good choice. We recommend it to all users.
