Many programs can help you create photo albums for the Web, but few balance ease of use and functionality as gracefully as the free JAlbum. In JAlbum, you assemble your project step-by-step, arranging simple tasks in a logical order. You specify the original image folder, set the album-destination folder, select the images, and generate the album. The program offers a considerable variety of skins for your album and lets you preview them prior to selection. You can easily create a customized slide show from your images, too. The impressive online help pages provide tutorials and detailed assistance. Our favorite feature, however, was the built-in FTP client, which lets you directly upload projects to your Web site. Overall, Jalbum's clear interface and abundant features lift it above most of its competitors.Publisher's description
From JAlbum AB :Free advanced web photo album generator with index pages and slideshows. Now with JSP/ASP-like scripting, integrated smart FTP client, improved EXIF handling and more. Drop folders containing image and movie files onto JAlbum. JAlbum will create thumbnails of your images and display them in index pages in HTML. You can also have JAlbum produce slide shows of your images for easy navigation. The apperance of the generated albums can be fully configured through the use of skins.
What's new in this version:
- You can now order prints straight from JAlbum albums using UK's best rated printing service, PhotoBox. They deliver within a couple of days over Europe
- New "Server mode" Tool added that enables JAlbum to automtically make albums as soon as a change to the file system is detected. This allows JAlbum to run as a server and update albums as soon as new images are uploaded under the image directory.

Version: JAlbum 6.2
"If I could load the software, it might be good..."
Pros: I've yet to be able to install the software, so who knows if there are any PROS to this.
Cons: My major problem is that the zile will not load. It will not install. It quits every time. I read all these wonderful reviews expecting a piece of software that was going to "blow my mind" and I am so disappointed that there aren't words to describe.
If cnet ot the manufacturer could figure out why this is happening, then I would gladly change my review.
