Many programs can help you create photo albums for the Web, but few balance ease of use and functionality as gracefully as the free JAlbum. In JAlbum, you assemble your project step-by-step, arranging simple tasks in a logical order. You specify the original image folder, set the album-destination folder, select the images, and generate the album. The program offers a considerable variety of skins for your album and lets you preview them prior to selection. You can easily create a customized slide show from your images, too. The impressive online help pages provide tutorials and detailed assistance. Our favorite feature, however, was the built-in FTP client, which lets you directly upload projects to your Web site. Overall, Jalbum's clear interface and abundant features lift it above most of its competitors.Publisher's description
From JAlbum AB :This software allows you to create nice-looking photo galleries for the Web. You simply select or drag and drop folders containing images or movie files onto JAlbum, and it creates thumbnails and HTML pages to publish your images as a gallery or as a picture slide show. The galleries are based on various templates, and their appearance can be further customized by advanced users. The application's additional features include support for IPTC/EXIF data, style sheets, lossless image manipulation, pluggable image filters, and a built-in FTP/SFTP client.
Changes in version 6.2 include: New "Server mode" Tool added that enables JAlbum to automatically make albums as soon as a change to the file system is detected. JAlbum now warns if unsaved changes has been made when quitting, loading projects or requesting new projects. The JAlbum title bar now also tells the name of the current project.

"Great but not that customizeable."
Pros: This is a great album maker for making Photo Albums for homepages or personal use.
Cons: You can't really customize the look of the album, thats why i give it 4/5 stars.

"Excellent piece of work - Well Done!"
Pros: Very Clean and professional selection of styles. Makes getting a large selection of images online MUCH easier, and the results are bug-free and impressive. It may be free, but it's better than most commercial releases. Great work :)
Cons: You may run into minor difficulties if you don't have a current Java Run time Environment installed. As far as customizing goes - It's only a piece of cake if you have some page editing skills and you aren't afraid to find and play with the default CSS files. Truth is though, you don't need the extra skills. This proggy generates picture gallery setups just fine.

"Get it, even if you don't need it!"
Pros: I downloaded this a couple of years back and couldn't believe it was free! It's easy to use, builds dynamite "Albums" and just keeps on improving. We've all been told "..you don't get nothing for nothing!" WRONG!! No spyware, adware just a damn good program!
Cons: It uses Java...I can live with that.
