IsoBuster is an excellent and low cost utility to do data recovery from CD, DVD, BD, and HD DVD. All File-Systems are supported. Supports an enormous range of image files as well. Scanning for lost files and folders, CD, DVD, BD, and HD DVD Surface scan. Find lost data on discs created with drag and drop applications (Direct CD, InCD, DLA, and Instant-Write).
Version 2.4 build 2.4.0.1 includes several changes such as FAT 12 / 16 / 32 support, show deleted files and folders from the FAT file-system immediately, find missing files and folders now includes finding orphaned FAT folders, and other improvements.

"Excellent piece of software that DOES what it needs to do"
Pros: I have used this tool many many times over the past few years, for many different tasks, recovering data from CD, recovering Video from DVD, opening ISO files etc. ...
IsoBuster has come through every single time.
I'm a very very happy camper !
Cons: No complaints.

"May be great but unable to try without purchasing"
Pros: I was not able to evaluate since trial version locks out part of the program
Cons: I wanted to be sure this version would function with Vista. The trial software locked out about 30% of the program's capabilities.
Summary: Since I could not completely evaluate in Vista, and I would not pay just to find out that this would not work in Vista. I did find another program that did allow 100% function and did run in Vista without any problems. Need an ISO, keep looking, ... read more >>

Pros: regained my lost data on my old CD-R ... (Vista could not read it within Windows Explorer) in minutes I regained my data and saved it to my HD, plan to burn to DVD! This program ROCKS! and yet FREE to try out!
Cons: I can't think of any!
Summary: I will recommend this program to others! I won't use any other program for CD/DVD data recovery! It does the job done right the first time!

Summary: It has saved many, many disks that I have had since around 1996 till now. I'ts part of my required software. I'm going more and more to Dvd's since I've had 4 hard drives corrupt in less than a year. I've lost very few files to bad cd or dvd where's... read more >>

"lost data...schmost data....this busts it real proper"
Pros: regained a critical DVD in...yup....minutes....far out....this is dead simple to use...just open the sessions and extract...easy as apple pie...whether its lost or corrupted written data...hard/optical drives...IsoBuster rocks..
