IsoBuster is an excellent and low cost utility to do data recovery from CD, DVD, BD and HD DVD. All File-Systems are supported. Supports an enormous range of image files as well. Scanning for lost files and folders, CD, DVD, BD and HD DVD Surface scan. Find lost data on discs created with drag and drop applications (Direct CD, InCD, DLA, Instant-Write, VISTA).

Find lost pictures created and saved to CD with Mavica or other equipment. Version 2 includes the blue laser optical disc types: BD (blu-ray Disc) and HD DVD (High Density DVD).

Version: IsoBuster 2

"Very useful to uncompress files"

Pros: I recently got an image in a .mdf of a program a friend developed and had no idea how to use it since the windows explorer did not open it, so I tried winrar, and no luck there either. But with ISOburner I could open the file and even burn it to a CD for later use!

Cons: Nothing to whine about, it is free, and if you want you can always donate to the authors.

Version: IsoBuster 2

"Spent ages trying to rescue files on a CD, this did it in 5 seconds"

Pros: Very quick. You get the functionality without being forced to pay, although it does mention paying to put a roof over the developers heads. I got the files which were on a damaged CD.

Cons: None, really. Did what I needed it for. 100%
