From Irfan Skiljan :IrfanView is a fast and simple image viewer and editor that supports all major graphic formats, including BMP, DIB, JPEG, GIF, animated GIF, PNG, PCX, multipage TIFF, and TGA. In addition, it features drag-and-drop support, directory viewing, TWAIN support, slide shows, batch conversion, and modifications, such as color depth, crop, blur, and sharpen.
Version 3.98 features a host of updates, including new thumbnail window option: Load thumbs from all subfolders; alpha blending effect added for slideshow/fullscreen; support for HDR and 3GP formats.

Version: IrfanView 3.98
Pros: IrfanView does is a powerful editing tool that the normal average user who does beginner to intermediate photo editing and viewing will love. It does not have the power that industry leading professional photo editors has, but it also does not have the price tag they do._Which gets hefty) This is the best choice for a anyone who might need a photo editor to edit pictures from a digital camera or any other external device. Amazingly effective for a free product.

Version: IrfanView 3.98
Pros: Mess around with your favorite pictures with the effects like pixelize and solarize or get serious and fix up some pics from vacation. All the goodies like sharpen, crop, and red-eye editing. Nice free replacement of a big time image editor for someone who does a little amateur work with pictures but doesn't need a lot of features.
Cons: Could use a bit bigger effects library but does cover the basics.

"easy to use, free, recommend to anyone"
Pros: IrfanView does is a powerful tool that the average user who does beginner to intermediate photo editing will love. It does not have the power that industry leading professional photo editors has, but it also does not have the price tag they do. The average person who does not do photo editing for their career will not notice a difference between the two. This is the smartest choice for a person who might need a photo editor once a week and especially to edit pictures from a digital camera. Surprisingly effective for a free product.

"Despite it's old design, this is very COOL!"
Pros: Plenty of languages and file types are supported. You can create TIF files with - at least - 5 compression methods, which is a very good feature as this is a freeware application. However, I'm not quite sure they should put the TIF - specials - createing methods under the View menu Multipage images. As i discovered the Batch conversion/rename under file menu, i gave an another start to Irfanview. I did the same when it's explorer make it possible to select more images with clicks then made it possible to rotate, then print them all, one-by-one.
This is a program i had no errors so far.
Cons: Despite it's 2006, the interface is still old. How about skins or alpha-blending? I gave 5 stars but i'd love to see a new design!

Pros: An Excellent Program to View and Edit the Images....
+More options than Windows Picture Viewer.
