From IVCSoft :Internet Video Converter makes it possible to convert the popular video formats thanks to a simple, complete, and effective interface managing open source software. It deals with MPEG video formats, flash video (FLV and SWF), DV, QuickTime, Windows Media Video, MJPEG, Apple TV, AVI (DivX, Xvid, and H264), mobile phone, 3GP, PSP, and iPod. Videos from YouTube, Dailymotion, and Megavideo can be downloaded and converted directly. A video player is integrated, as well as functions for extracting soundtrack to MP3 and video rotation for movies coming from numerical devices.
Version 1.52.1.7 includes an option to check updates for IVC at startup.

Pros: Not a waste of money at least, since it's free.
Cons: I have many FLV's that I wanted to convert into a useful format. I went to the "Transcode" tab and hit my first snag. I found NO "Browse" button, and surmised that I have to type in the full path and name of the file. (I checked out the "Help" tab, but sadly it wasn't of any help). Disappointed, I clicked the Close button (the red x) - and it didn't close. I then tried the "Exit" option in the opposite corner, and it didn't exit the program. The only way out was the "Three Finger Salute" and "Kill Process."
I had high hopes for this program. Some day it may live up to them, but it's got a long way to go before it does.

Pros: this converts to a lot of different formats. works really quick.
Cons: it will only install online, i couldn't get it to reinstall when i saved the set up file.

"Amazingly powerful converter for nearly any format!"
Pros: Fast conversion, accepts many formats and has many useful outputs. I use it all the time to convert incompatible files, and to remove the "JPEG.COM" watermark on digital camera video clips. I highly reccomend it!
Cons: A few occasional glitches or incompatibility issues, and the interface isn't the friendliest. Also requires a certain amount of knowledge about codecs & container formats, but is pretty simple.
