With its straightforward interface and whimsical attitude, IncrediMail appeals to the casual e-mailer, but actually offers enough features--like Exchange server support--to be functional for more serious endeavors. You can personalize your messages with background stationery from a variety of categories, including animals, art, technology, and moods. The program installs with about 50 backgrounds, most with a cartoony feel, and you can download more online or create your own with Letter Creator (a 10-use trial comes with this download). It supports recorded voice attachments, and the premium version supports skins.
There are a few drawbacks. The overall interface lacks pizazz and looks like it was last overhauled back when emoticons were new. There's a questionnaire that must be filled out when installing the program, annoying even at three questions long. More significantly, IncrediMail turns into quite the resource pig when playing around with graphics-heavy backgrounds.
The features are solid, though. The program offers basic e-mail client functions, including sending, receiving, and organizing messages; managing your address book; and creating rules for how to handle certain messages. Among its other included features are an integrated JunkFilter that lets you assign permission for senders or domains, IMAP support via a POP3 emulator, and Message Rules functions that work in concert with JunkFilter. IncrediMail makes standard e-mail a bit more fun for home users, especially for kids and kids at heart.

"Too many 'hidden' extras costs"
Pros: I originally paid for the full IncrediMail & Letter Creator (i think that's what it's name was...you see i could never figure out how to use it so i have forgotten it's name), but i long ago uninstalled it. Why? Because they may supply you with some basic, VERY basic, stuff but the really GOOD stuff all costs you extra.
Then to add insult to injury they had the cheek to charge for a spam filter which was previously free.
NO PROS !! Big con !!
Cons: Every con in the book. I was dumb enough to pay out for it some 5 years ago. They give you very little for even less. Don't even think about it.

Version: IncrediMail Xe build 2206
Pros: It seems to show good potential - but, try to uninstall it - Good Luck! If you don't mind using RegEdit and going into the registry, this is the only way I have found to delete it - it is horrible, it goes into every part of your computer, it takes on deFault irregardless whether you want it or not!
Then, when you think you have finally gotten rid of it, something IncrediMail pops up again!
Cons: Be ready to use RegEdit, cause you're going to need it to rid your system of this software.
Also, you'll have to go to Program Folder and delete it there too. Windows uninstall doesn't rid you of it, you have to do it manually!

Version: IncrediMail Xe build 2206
Pros: I have used Incredimail for 4+ years and love previous (free) versions. Be warned, now to access the really good stuff (letters, animations etc.) you need to be a paid subscriber. I have always found their support helpful.Very simple to install and use.
Cons: They also took away the free junk mail filter recently and now you have to also pay for that service. I guess that's fair enough, but I can't afford to subscribe and I got really spoilt using features that used to be free. All in all it's better than outlook. I'll continue to use what's left of the program until I find something just as good that's free or cheaper.

"So far the best i've seen but does make your computer slower"
Pros: It bounces junk mail if you want it to (sends an e-mail saying your address doesn't exist, fooling the spammer).
Has e-cards you can send to friends (on their birthdays, xmas, etc) without having to go online to an e-card webpage, search for the card you like, register and all that crap.
Gives you a warn when an e-mail arrives (although i believe this makes the computer slower).
Let's you choose what is the time interval you want it to recheck for new messages.
It's very friendly user (including when you are setting up the accounts, when all you have to do is put your e-mail adress and incredimail will fill the smpt and pop adresses).
Cons: It takes ages to open your folders if you have lots of messages.
It doesn't let you atach a file like Outlook does (with outlook, when you have a file opened, you can go to the toolbar menu and clik on "send this file via message". Incredimail doesn't have this option)
