Publisher's description
From TeraByte :Image for Windows is a Windows drive image backup-and-restore utility that creates a snapshot of an entire partition or volume to a set of files or directly to most writable DVD/CD drives. If something ever happens to that partition or volume, you'll be able to restore the snapshot image.
Version 1.64 added support for fully formatted DVD-RW discs.

Version: Image for Windows 1.64
"Excellent, straightforward imager w/good tech support"
Pros: Once mastered, it is easy to use - and fast.
Can do byte-for-byte verification for accuracy, if chosen. Comes with Image for DOS (IFD), for restoration in case Windows won't boot; Image for Linux (IFL).
Has the ability to back up from within Windows. Can write directly to various media, such as CD or DVD. Or use the free BingBurn to write a previously created image file to DVD.
Advanced utilization of many program features can be controlled from the command line.
Images are interchangeable with other Terabyte products, such as the full featured BootIt boot manager.
Excellent, timely help from the company and users in the on line forums, available through a WEB interface or via newsreaders.
Nicely organized website - with detailed explanations and comparisons of company products. Useful and FREE utilities are available for download.
I have been told that IFW is compatible with Vista and that a forthcoming version will be more finely tailored to that platform.
Cons: Documentation is generally clear, with few typos, but could stand culling - for redundancy, brevity and clarity, and user friendliness.
