Publisher's description
From ICONIX :Tired of trying to figure out which email messages might be phishing or fraudulent spam? Iconix eMail ID lets you see what's real before you even open the message. Iconix eMail ID works with your current email service such as Yahoo! mail, Windows Live Hotmail, Gmail, Earthlink, Outlook Express (all on IE or FireFox). Iconix eMail ID double checks the source of a message to make sure it's not a spoof. It then uses a simple visual indicator in your inbox--a gold lock with a checkmark to show that a message is real. E-mail from over 300 major senders is currently identified--companies such as eBay, PayPal, Citibank, Amazon.com, Expedia, MySpace, and the New York Times represent the top online sites for retail, travel, auctions, banking, e-cards, news/entertainment, and dating.

Version: Iconix eMail ID 3.35.1
Pros: Nailed an Id theft site that was passing itself off as PayPal. If you receive email you need this program.. It really does do what it said it would.
Cons: needs Vista support

Version: Iconix eMail ID 3.35.1
"Doesn't work, and Iconix won't fix"
Pros: Software has not yet worked, and company has not fixed it.
Cons: I installed the sotware but no icons appeared in Outlook. (I use Outlook 2007 and Windows XP.) The Iconix "welcome" e-mail said that this might happen, and referred me to their website. After searching, I found a form in which you are supposed to submit the header from the Iconix e-mail. I submitted it, and so far (2 days later) Iconix has not replied. So, since the software has not yet worked for me, I don't have anything good to say about it yet.

Version: Iconix eMail ID 3.35.1
"it does a little of what it says it is suppose to do"
Cons: it does not catch the spam at all
-
Version: Iconix eMail ID 3.35.1
"Does what it says it does, works great"
Pros: I've used this with gmail for a while now, and I really like it. It lets you see what is really from ebay, paypal, newegg, CNet, etc. and doesn't leave you guessing. That's a pretty cool leg up on the spammers and phishers. I'm glad I found it.
Cons: I wish it would work with gmail domains, where you outsource your email to gmail. My company uses that, and we have the same gmail interface as the normal gmail, but the URL is slightly different. I expect that feature will show up at some point, but I haven't figured out how with 3.40.1 yet. I'll have my entire company using this when that happens.
