Publisher's Description
From NoName ScriptWare:
Ibis is an AppleScript that will auto-post files to newsgroups using Thoth for OS X. Just drop a folder full of files onto the Ibis (eye-biss) icon to start posting the contents of that folder to your favorite newsgroup. You can also specify a folder by double-clicking on the Ibis icon. Makes short work of tedious, multiple postings. Jaguar compatible. 24U Appearance OSAX installer included.
What's new in this version:
- Added the option to show the size of each segment in the subject line (not to be confused with chunk and/or part size).
- Improved dialog boxes and code.
- No longer have to restart finder after installing scripting addition.

Well, it's easy to see from Gerald_Wilson's last 10 comments that he must be a pleasure to be around on a Friday night. I don't think any software program could get past his critical eye and sharp rhetoric. With that said, I have used every autoposter on the planet and personally use Ibis for a couple of reasons: It's fast, it's idiot-proof, and I've never had it crash, burp, or hiccup no matter how many times I've used it. I tried Osiris and found it annoying that it couldn't even launch Thoth or Newswatcher, crashed a few times halfway through a post, and then asked me to donate money with some charlie brownism phrase only lucy could appreciate it. So yes, Gerald, it may not be as snazzy as Osiris, but for an applescript that needs only a scripting addition to work (and I've never had a problem with that either), this does some amazing stuff found in higher-level apps. Now quick, I hear some poor helpless software begging for your words of wisdom. They're under the Windows tab.
Finally, I've asked the author for features, and unlike some "freeware" authors, he acted as though I was his best customer and that I paid him $50 to use the program. That's what I call service. -
"this is over rated."

while it's nice that there are a couple of options, both freeware, why anyone would prefer Ibis to Osiris is beyond me. Because of the high ratings I tried this, and it doesn't hold a candle to Osiris. Messy interface, fewer options, requires an external OSAX to run (which it told me had expired even though I just installed it before launching Ibis). All in all seems functional but there are better options. Just over-rated here.
