This simple application eases the search and retrieval of information about movies and TV shows from the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) Web site. I developed it because I wanted a way to retrieve only the information that I was interested in for a movie/TV show, namely cast and crew, memorable quotes, trivia and goofs.

Known issues:

If nothing seems to be happening when displaying a title's info, that is normal. The app is still downloading data from IMDb. Download times depend on what Internet connection you use. Check the status messages and/or Internet Connect (if you are using AirPort or a modem) to ensure that there is network activity.

All of the menu items do not work, except About, Hide and Quit.

Some strange codes e.g. #233 may appear in titles. That's normal. I haven't figured out how to translate that into human-readable characters yet. However, displaying these titles' info may cause the app to crash.

Future improvements:

Multithreading! I think that this is especially important for an application like IMDb Helper.

Custom application icon.

Improved About panel.

Help contents.

Saving movies/TV shows to a favorites database.
