ICQ Monitor Sniffer is network utility software designed to monitor, record and capture ICQ chat conversations on all computers in a network. It is able to record all conversations automatically and export all intercepted messages to HTML files for later processing and analyzing. It is very easy to make it to work, and it will monitor all conversations in your Local Area network without the use of client software installed on the remote computer. Version 3.2 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

This single-purpose application captures ICQ messages from a LAN (local-area network), but in our tests the program didn't work as well as promised. ICQ Monitor Sniffer can be installed on any computer anywhere in a LAN. As the name implies, it primarily monitors ICQ chatters in your network, and offers a basic interface for viewing logs. In our tests, the program worked well, capturing instant messages in host computers, displaying the IP address or the display name of the sender, and the sent messages. However, the filtering feature for monitoring specific IP addresses failed to monitor and intercept instant messages.
You can save logs into easy-to-understand HTML reports, or you send it to your mailbox via e-mail. The program can be password-protected, though it's strange that ICQ Monitor Sniffer can be easily terminated through its taskbar icon. This 10-day trial program could be an easy recommendation, but with the flaws mentioned, administrators can easily find more effective monitoring programs.
