Version: IBasic Professional 1.11
Pros: It looked like a promising Basic compiler, just a pity it is no longer being developed.
Cons: The product is no longer actively supported. the support forums are down, and the website is running in automatic mode. Don't waste your money on abandonware.

"Well thought out combination of features and tools and a nice clean syntax"
Pros: Fast compiler and small, fast code.
Good documentation.
Excellent support.
A very nicely designed system with everything at your fingertips.
Cons: The GUI designer is a little weak but it's adequate and the compiler is fast enough that experimenting to get just what you want is pretty easy anyway.

Version: IBasic Professional 1.11
Pros: IBasic Pro gives you the power of a language like Visual C++ but is easy to handle like a BASIC dialect should be. It is as fast as a compiled language can be and creates small files because your code is compiled and doesn't need runtime libraries. This makes it great for applications and games that will be shipped over the web. You can access the full windows api and external dlls too.
Hundreds of usefull functions are allready build in, but you can extend it yourself easily or get command paks for special needs.
The support by the company is outstanding. IBasic Pro is well tested and so rock stable. This is really an AAA language. Create your next app or game with it!!!!

Version: IBasic Professional 1.11
"IBasic Pro is an excellent programming tool for novices and pros alike."
Pros: IBasic Pro is very easy to learn for programming novices but is advanced enough for veteran programmers. The author is also dedicated to helping users on the support website. Version 2.0 will include even more advanced features!
Cons: The IBasic Pro does include a GUI designer with several visual controls but does not have as many controls as other languages.

Version: IBasic Professional 1.11
"Worth a trial to write a browser for your project"
Pros: You could write a browser (encapsulating IE without menus) in seven lines of code. Commands wrapped WFC (Foundation Class) methods. Compiler produces small and fast exe's and dll's. Imports external dynamic link library signatures well.
Cons: There wasn't a workable resource manager. Debugging was not it's strong suit, but well worth the extra effort.
Summary: When compared to less worthy technologies with greater longevity (Perl and Crystal Reports come to mind) the demise of this language seems unfair. Probably more stigmatized by the word BASIC in it's name, this language was robust enough to deliver... read more >>
