This crippled variant of Family Key Logger is small and simple, but stealth is not its strong point. As in its more robust sister program, keystrokes are recorded in a TXT file, a format that proves difficult to analyze. Filtering options might make it easier, but there are none to be found. To its credit, the program doesn't slow system performance. If cloak-and-dagger operations are a top priority, this program is probably not your best bet. You can hide Home Keylogger's system tray icon manually, but the program will inevitably be revealed through common activities such as spyware scans, process management (through Task Manager or Process Explorer), and even a plain old system reboot. Once found, the program turns out not to be password protected, and settings can be changed by anyone who can guess the default (and unchangeable) key combination. Straightforward but absolutely disclosed and unprotected, Home Keylogger can only be recommended for spying on inexperienced users--a demographic that, these days, may only include your toddlers.Publisher's Description

If you would like your computer to get infected with Trojans and viruses, this is a great piece of software - the best free one out there yet. I'd recommend this program to any daft one of you who want to get annoyed.

The thing does not stay hidden. The icon stays visible and each time you log on you have to manually hide it. All you have to do is right click the icon and everything is there.

Unless you want the person you are spying on to know you are spying on them.. or they are 2 years old (but why would you want to spy on a 2 year old??).don't use this thing!

It logged all keystrokes as it says it would. I caught a household member using the Internet irresponsibly.
Cons
Other users on the computer who have a limited account (non-administrator) were able to view the log and clear the log. This means all of MY passwords and privacy-sensitive work information would post to this log. Not good.
Summary
Like I said, you get what you pay for. It's free. That's good. The fact that it lets EVERY USER view and clear the log sucks. If you have small kids who won't figure out how to use it, it is good. But for me, it won't work.

it worked for a bout 1 - 2 hrs then after that it wouldnt work no more - and i have del. all the files and started all over again and it just didnt work.

i would love so much to use this keylogger. my sister has it and it works just fine for her - im sensing some infidelity and i guess theres no way to catch him.. ne suggestions ne body please ?

Does exactly what it's suppose to, neatly and efficiently. It's important to keep in mind that not all keyloggers are intended for spying on someone.
Cons
None that I know of. Of course virus or firewall programs will pop up a warning box to let you know it's a keylogger, but just add to your list of safe programs. It's not a virus.
Summary
The bottom line is that not all keyloggers are bad and not all keyloggers are intended for the sole purpose of spying on someone (thinking of CNETS ridiculous remark about spying on a toddler). Home Keylogger works great for retrieving lost text and avoiding having to try and remember exactly what you typed. I've used this program for many years, not for spying but to save myself from losing work! When used for this purpose theres no reason to hide anything and the icon sits quietly (but unhidden) in the toolbar until you need it.

I took the risk of downloading it because when I downloaded ardamax it came up as virus, its simple coz its a keylogger. It works great so far!
