Without any extra panache to rave about, this straight shooter simply gets its job done.
Hide My IP 2007 has a dry, humdrum interface. It starts off by displaying your real IP address, and you can adjust its settings to employ only U.S. IPs and to connect to secure servers. Although it has options to always use the same fake IP or to swap them every so many minutes, you're limited to one fake IP during the trial. Hide My IP 2007 works with a variety of browsers, including Netscape and Opera.
In our tests, we surfed using Internet Explorer and Firefox with our phony proxy; we experienced no problems under our new disguise, and most pages loaded at normal speed. Our new IP appeared instantly on the UI, and you can conveniently make settings adjustments from the program's system tray icon. The stingy trial gives you only three days to test it, but this application puts everyone from beginners to master surfers at ease with simple configurations and instant, effective results.

Cons: Might as well go back to a bad dial up connection. Website access is slow, when it works. Sometimes it can't find an anonymous proxy server. A big rip off.

Pros: It does hide my IP, which is good.
Cons: But it slows down my browsing a LOT! And it ultimately messes with my browsers (both IE and Firefox) in a terminal sort of way. After a few minutes of use, I cannot access any sites (I get error messages telling me that the server cannot be found) and the only way to get my browsers to work again is to reboot my computer. Bummer...

Pros: I've pay for the complete ver.Llong ago and ***! You CAN'T USE THE ALL FUNTIONS,and ask u again for pay the premium ver.Afer a year the change option (with few ips) optios stop working and they ask me to buy again the crap,but what is WORST,NOWADAYS ,the only ip thay they lend me DONT' WORK AT ALL ON ALL SITES LIKE YAHOO . COMPLETE USELESS! And now 4 this stupid problem I was having trouble on a site,STAY AWAY OF THIS SH..!

Pros: None -it will hide your ip but drive you mad!
Cons: Never had peace until I uninstalled it.. Continuous error messages.

Pros: . I have a 5 Meg download provider and typically get about 4800KPS down and 450KPS upload- through this service I had 3525KPS download and 386KPS Upload. I tested using Google Chrome and went to several privacy tester sites and was anonymous on all.
Cons: Only three days to test before you have to buy. I did not try the 2008 edition.
Summary: This is the best of the dozen or so I have tested on Download.com so far.
