• Hide IP NG has gone downhill

  Pros

  A good way to avoid geographical restrictions - in my case to get the BBC cricket commentary online in Prague.

  Cons

  This used to be the ideal program - click the "blue monk" icon and you could avoid the annoying and petty geographical restrictions on some sites in the US and UK. For at least five years this program has been ideal and I have recommended it enthusiastically. BUT since the start of 2015, the UK IPs have been unreliable. One set works and the other doesn't, but as you get no choice of the actual IP you sometimes have to make several attempts to connect before you get online. There is a support form on their website but it doesn't work and hasn't for some time. I obtained the email address for the "support" for the company from their seller but it appears that the manufacturers have abandoned technical support altogether. I got no response.

  Summary

  It's OK for US IPs but the UK IPs are unreliable. I wouldn't write it off but it's worth looking for something better.

  Pros

  as advertised... use to get nasty letters from my internet provider about downloading. Haven't received one since using Hide IP. Have been using it for 4 years now.

  Pros

  The pros.It is great for switching IPs if you can get it to work.. The advantages being quite a few US IPs and UK ones, which give your various options.

  Cons

  Lack of customer support. I have written many emails regarding my purchased product. No response. Therefore, I am left with an ineffective purchase that can only be used intermittently.

  Summary

  I feel that the product has potential. However, I am being realistic in my disappointment with this product, so that people who are interested in buying the real deal are aware of what they may run into. As I said, the notion is a good one. It gives you choices of US and UK IPs and they can be switched to very easily without rebooting. HOWEVER, and I want to make this point very clear, there is no customer support. I brought this product in August 2010 and since then I have only been able to use it intermittently as it keeps on asking for a username and password. This was not issued to me when I brought the product. Thus, I have no idea of what it is. Then, when I do get it to work, it works for a very short period of time then an 'authentication required ' dialogue box comes up requesting my username and password. I feel it s very important to leave an objective and non biased review based on what I have brought. This is clearly what I have intended to do. To reiterate, if the product was fully functional and it worked, then I would have no trouble leaving a positive review, as it has potential. What has let this product down for me has been the lack of response to the many emails that I have sent to this company.

  Pros

  You can switch servers from the USA to the UK with out rebooting, and it is very fast at doing it. Seems like real time. Also, I have use several IP checkers and they show my new ip the same. This is a good piece of software.

  Cons

  None at all.

  Summary

  With this you can't go wrong, and I am not connected to the software company in any way. Just a satisfied user.
