"Bad program, stay away from it as far as you can!"
Version: Handybits Voice Mail 5.5
Pros
Absolutely nothing.
Cons
Everything.
Summary
About 1.5 years ago the Teknum's HandyBits Voice Mail 5.5 install program got a clean bill of health from Avast.
After installing it all hell broke loose.
Avast and other programs reported the Teknum updater, a trojan, that also tried to silently sneak into the Start Menu.
Found a 'cure' for the Teknum updater on the Net, the 'updEnabler', which promptly installed the 'Aconti-Dialer', another a Trojan, and did not much else otherwise.
Uninstalling HandyBits Voice Mail leaves the updater behind and even if it is manually removed it will install itself again and again.
This is caused by another silently installed Teknum present, the 'ssmenu.dll' in Windows-System32.
The restore points of Windows System Restore had also been tampered with. (Ad-Aware, full scan).
According to the many reports posted on the Net by security experts and individual users, apparently all of the various HandyBits' programs install the above mentioned hazardous trash.
The Teknum Systems AS.' integrity and trustworthiness is nonexistent. This product installed two trojans, contaminated the System Restore, resulted in numerous troubling registry entries and installed a malicious system dll file and therefore HandyBits Voice Mail 5.5 should not be listed/promoted/made available for downloading by anyone and most certainly not by a reputable download site.
Don't know if Teknum has 'cleaned' the program by now, don't care to find out...
Don't believe any of the above?
Why not install HandyBits Voice Mail 5.5 and find out for yourself?
