Sure, Firefox can track your RSS feeds, check your Gmail, and deliver a weather report. But did you know it can write up a grocery list too? With Grocery List Generator, it can. This extension comes supplied with a large list of food categories, dishes, and products. To create and print a list, just select the dishes you want to prepare, and the program automatically adds the necessary products. Unfortunately, you can't enter product prices or track expenses, which makes the extension a lot less useful than it might otherwise be. But if you don't want to spring for a stand-alone grocery application, Grocery List Generator makes a decent alternative. Of course, you'll still have to do the actual shopping yourself: Firefox can't handle that part for you--yet.

  "A Fine helper for my shopping"

  Pros: Flexible and customizable A great deal for free!!

  Cons: after updating or adding items it resets to the top of the page instead of taking you to the item you just updated or added. Not a big deal just a frustrating issue. The "get more recipes link does not work

  "Flexible. Easy to use."

  Pros: Easy to use--once you understand how it's put together. You can create your own categories and add/delete items. Not limited to groceries--of course--so I use it for other shopping as well. Once you've established--over time--your usual purchases, it's quick and simple to indicate what you need to purchase on your next shop. (I don't use the recipe feature.

  Pros: It's nice to have a grocery list and recipe/ingredients

  Cons: Why would you want this inside your browser...... It doesn't make any sense, this would would probably be better made for a stand alone program, not inside a browser, especially since the program really has nothing to do with the internet.

  Pros: sounds like a great product and would be wonderful for someone else.

  Cons: i need a program that is stand alone and i can use when not online as well.

  Summary: i was considering downloading this program but thanks to finding out that it is not a standalone program, i'm not going to, it would've wasted alot of my time,...i need something i can use even when i'm not online....
