This all-purpose image editor offers high-end editing tools and support for several image formats, without the high price tag of professional software. GraphicConverter can import and export almost any image format. It offers a simple, yet powerful, set of image-editing tools, batch-conversion capabilities, and compatibility with Photoshop plug-ins. You also can create a slide show of your images. The publisher actively updates the program in response to bug reports and requests for feature enhancements, which explains its longevity as a Mac image editor. The nag screen in the unregistered version can get annoying, which just encourages you to buy the full program. Though there certainly are better image-editing solutions out there, none offer as much value as GraphicConverter.

GraphicConverter is an all-purpose image editor that opens and saves images in just about any graphics format. The program includes high-end editing tools for graphics manipulation, as well as compatability with Photoshop-style plug-ins. It offers batch-conversion capabilities, a slide show window, and more. GraphicConverter can now import 130 file formats and export 40 file formats. The previous version added the ability to import TealPaint PDBs and ScreenShot Hack PDBs, in addition to other features. Version 4.0.6 adds several enhancements and fixes bugs. The Carbon version has also been improved. For a full list of new features, please refer to the GraphicConverter release notes page.

Note: This program displays a shareware reminder screen upon launch that can last for up to 20 seconds. To get rid of this nag screen, register GraphicConvertor for $35.
