This all-purpose image editor offers high-end editing tools and support for several image formats, without the high price tag of professional software. GraphicConverter can import and export almost any image format. It offers a simple, yet powerful, set of image-editing tools, batch-conversion capabilities, and compatibility with Photoshop plug-ins. You also can create a slide show of your images. The publisher actively updates the program in response to bug reports and requests for feature enhancements, which explains its longevity as a Mac image editor. The nag screen in the unregistered version can get annoying, which just encourages you to buy the full program. Though there certainly are better image-editing solutions out there, none offer as much value as GraphicConverter.
Our editors say: This all-purpose image editor offers high-end editing tools, support for several image formats, and more--without the high price tag of professional software. At the time of this review, GraphicConverter could import 130 image formats and export 40; although with almost every update those numbers grow. It offers a simple yet powerful set of image editing tools, batch conversion capabilities, and compatibility with Photoshop plug-ins, and you can create a slide show of your images.
The publisher actively updates the program in response to bug reports and requests for feature enhancements, which explains its longevity as a Mac image editor. Before you register, the nag screen in GraphicConverter can get annoying with excruciatingly long wait periods before you start. You might as well pay the low $30 price. The point is, there are certainly better, more feature-rich image editing solutions out there, but none can offer such an extensive feature set for such a low price.
