Google Video Viewer enables you to search a growing archive of televised content; everything from sports to dinosaur documentaries to news shows. Just type in your search term (for instance, ipod or Napa Valley) or do a more advanced search (for instance, title:nightline) and Google Video will search the closed captioning and text descriptions of all the videos in our archive for relevant results. Click on a video title on your results page and you can view still images from the video and, where a transcript is available, short snippets of transcript text.
New version features include a fast download (~1 MB), the ability to play any video available on Google Video,. and it won't interfere with other video players on your system.
After you install the Google Video Viewer, simply play the video you selected.

It does not asks you annoying questions. When you click to download GVI video it starts download in background. Few seconds before download finishes it starts playing. Or if you click it to play. If you interrupt download, next time you click on hyperlink or open unfinished file it would continue download.
Cons
It's part of video.google.com which is excelent! So any software that's part of it can not be as good as site.

Fast loads, plays while downloading. Easy instal.

Everything worked up to clicking on the video at google.com. It would not play it at all. The graphics were messed up completely. Even after completely downloading it, it still is messed up. Trying to go into full screen, it came up with an error about directx and closed the program, and I have directx 9.0c.
Also it only plays GVI, which makes it useless except for the video.google.com site.

People here dont know how to use the software but it really is wonderful. Google video is the best. Most importantly, the Google logo means more than you think. Search technology is very complicated, Google is very clean, organised, and safe. Google's mission is to organize all the worlds information and make it univerasally accessible and useful. This means a lot more than you can imagine, and it will take an estimated 300 years. There has been conspiracy about Googles power and security in their terms or service. Their terms of service are more trustworthy than other companies. Unlike companies like Microsoft and AIM, Google offers free and easy customer support in their help pages where you can even contact Google and get a personal response. Google is safe and reliable. Why should you care about Google? Because Google can change the way you live your daily life. Google is an important step in technology. Google already has many more services that search like blogger.com, Google Earth, Maps, Picasa, Hello, Desktop Search, Groups, Froogle and much more. People that work for big software companies like Microsoft are now running to work at the amazing Google! Google products are preferable over any other product in the world. I choose Google because I know it will make a difference.

"Many problems with the download"

I have not been able to download a full workable version. They tell me that is about 1.1M but I can only download 365K and when executing reports that is damaaged so I have not been able to use it yet. Anybody can email a copy?
