The Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer does more than give IE a shot of nitro. With a set of features both useful and self-promoting, Google Toolbar 4 feels like it adds four cylinders to IE's engine, turning it into a powerhouse of personalized functionality. There's the dedicated Google search window, the highly effective pop-up blocker, the form autofiller, the translation utility, the spelling checker, and the map tool that automatically links addresses in Web pages to maps. Then there's the full integration with the Google suite: Google Earth, Google News, Froogle, Google Maps, Blogger, and others. Every single one of the integrated tools, including the toolbar itself, is fully customizable.
Note that using advanced features such as PageRank automatically sends the URL of the site you're viewing back to Google's servers. The PageRank feature is optional, and you can enable or disable it at any time through the toolbar's Options button. But if you're concerned about privacy, Google gives you the option of downloading a version that doesn't report back. You can even use the Google Toolbar without a Google account. However, considering all that comes with it, why wouldn't you?

Version: Google Toolbar beta (Windows 2000/XP) 4.0.513.2948
Pros: If you are using IE, I think this is one of the best add-ons. It's free and very useful. It even comes with extra features such as ad blocking. I am sure there are other programs out there that does more, but they are not as small or as FREE as this.
Cons: Unless you hate IE or you hate Google, there isn't much to hate.

"Yeah its google toolbar, but stick with version 3"
Pros: Its free.
Its still the best toolbar for IE in the world...and now firefox as well :).
Auto formfiller, highlight terms, popup blocker, etc. All included.
Cons: They removed the search history in v4...DARGH!
I dont like the new v4 interface.
I think its a little slower than v3.

I say stick with v3. Its better and faster in my opinion. If you need v4 to have links to Google Maps and such, then you are too lazy to be using the internet.

Version: Google Toolbar beta (Windows 2000/XP) 4.0.513.2948
"Excellent Toolbar for Internet Explorer!"
Pros: Enables access to most popular Google Services, directly from the browser! Translate pages, relevant search results, up-to-date news, Google Bookmarks and many more features just a few clicks away!
Search results from your own country can also be programmed by adding a button. Gmail access, PageRank function (how good is that page?), Automatic Linking of address and etc are also included.
The pop-up blocker works very well, but it seems that is not necessary if you use other pop-up blockers.
Put your part in the PageRank rating by voting for the page you are viewing. And don't forget to check out some other Google services (Google Local, etc.)
*NEW: Send stuff to SMS, Blogs and Gmail! I never tried it yet, but it sounds interesting.
Get the toolbar for Firefox at the Google Toolbar website!
Cons: Nothing at all.

Version: Google Toolbar beta (Windows 2000/XP) 4.0.513.2948
Pros: Easy and quick to install, with page rank feature.Does the exact thing what you ask for searches google. Consumes less memory than anyother toolbar. Wide range of options with in built popup blocker.
very fast and accurate results than anyother search engine.
Ever improving software with very good support and update feature.
Cons: Popup blocker is not great, still some sites creates popups inspite of google toolbar's prescence and sometimes doesnt allow you to open a new window because of popup blocking

Version: Google Toolbar beta (Windows 2000/XP) 4.0.513.2948
Pros: Free
Cons: Auto fill, didnt work.Made my system slightly slower. It didnt like getting uninstalled. When uninstalling I got 3 error messages, windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. Then when it did uninstall, my BitDefender Security was going haywire with entries to my registry.
I denied all access.I had to manually delete files after uninstallation!
Not for me!
