Publisher's description
From Runtime Software :GetDataBack is highly advanced data-recovery software that will help you to get your data back when your drive's partition table, boot record, Master File Table, or root directory is corrupted or lost, when a virus hits the drive, when files have been deleted, when the drive has been formatted, or when the drive has been struck by a power failure. GetDataBack can even recover your data when the drive is no longer recognized by the operating system or not only the root directory but all directory information is lost. Advanced algorithms will make sure all directories and subdirectories are put together as they were, and that long filenames are reconstructed correctly. GetDataBack is safe because it's read-only, which means the program will never attempt to write to the drive you're about to recover.
Version 3.03 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Version: GetDataBack for NTFS 3.03
"A useful commodity to have at hand"
Pros: Recovers any/all data, even if the primary partition has been deleted via Fdisk. Logical display, similar to earlier Xtree or LapLink programs, puts you in control! Following initial scan actual recovery/saving of data is quick.
Cons: Price is slightly high...

Version: GetDataBack for NTFS 3.03
Pros: I recently accidentally formated my data drive with all of my sons baby pictures, over 10 gigs of music, all of my document files, outlook email files and other data files. I was able to recover ALL of the 18 gigs of data that I lost. Seen some reviewers claim that it took 20 hours to scan, but I had a 120GB HDD and it only took 42 minutes I guess it depends on the amount of data there is on the disk. The copying was superfast, just like copying data from one HDD to another. The life saving comes from the fact that if it didn't work my wife would have ended my exixtence for losing our sons baby pictures
Thank you GETDATABACK!
Cons: The interface is not as polished as it could be. If you accidentally close the app you have to scan the drive all over again. The price was a bit steep $79 for the NTFS version.

Version: GetDataBack for NTFS 3.03
"Recovered all my data, and then some"
Pros: Recovered data from a 200Gb NTFS partition, that was partially overwritten by a DOS (FAT) format. I downloaded and purchased "Active UNDELETE" after reading reviews of that program, and it found ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on my HDD to recover. Total waste of money. GetDataBack was a different story.
1. First and foremost, I got all my data back (as far as I can tell).
2. Easy to use interface, with step by step instructions.
3. Demo version allows full scan of drive and displays directories and files that have been deleted, and gives the ability to test the file to see if it is good or not. Their documentation states that if the file appears the chances are good it has been recovered properly. I found this to be true.
4. Let's you choose what files or directories to recover, or you can recover the whole NTFS drive in one shot.
5. All file names in tact, I did not have to do any renaming.
6. Allows user to save the scan, so you can go back later and choose which files / directories to recover. Great feature, but I did not use it. When you're in a panic about getting your data back, I don't want to even shut my computer off!
7. Warns you not to save data to the same drive. This seems obvious, but good to have the warning anyway.
7. Really quick scan. 143Gb of data in an hour or so. Don't quote me on the exact time, all I know is that it was really fast compared to the "other" program I bought.
Overall, a very good program. If you're like me and just want to push a couple of buttons, see your data, and get it back, all with as little hassle as possible, this program is for you.
Cons: Price. Wold have liked to see it in the $25 range. Still, well worth the money.

Version: GetDataBack for NTFS 3.03
Pros: I tried 5 of the most popular commercial programs to recover the data from my external drive after an 'MFT' error, and this was the ONLY one that found my data. It's still ahead of its competitors even though it's nearly a year old now.
Cons: You have to have copy the files to another drive. It won't recover them on the unresponsive drive.

Version: GetDataBack for NTFS 3.03
Pros: Easy to install and use. I was up and running in no time. Used it on a Maxtor 80 GB SATA drive that was about to die and pulled out all the data.
I work as a Network Administrator, this is a must have tool for anyone in this field.
Cons: None
