Whether this application is indeed genius, it's hard to say whether you'll emerge as a writing wunderkind after using it. Genius ProseBuilder is a notepad program that offers a writing wizard to help guide you through the process of building a very simple, three paragraph essay. Just two options appear at the top of the main program window--File and Wizards. Clicking on "Wizards" opens a separate window and instructions for starting your essay. Statements such as "Now enter the opening statement of your introductory paragraph," or "Now enter a brief conclusion drawn from all three examples" are as much guidance as you'll get. If you're not familiar with the structure or the language used to describe an essay, these commands might not be entirely helpful. It does, however, help keep your thoughts on track if you are prone to verbal wandering. At the end of the wizard session, your essay appears in the main program window. Genius ProseBuilder does offer a print function, yet doesn't include much formatting or choice of fonts. Overall, this very simplistic freeware program could be a help for essay writers suffering from serious organizational block. Just don't expect it to do the work for you.
