Pros
Genie Backup Manager Pro offers several improvements over Windows 7 backup. Just to name a few:
- Multiple kinds of backups. Full, Mirror, Incremental, or Differential.
- Choice between compressed backup and backup in native Windows format.
- Choice between secured and unsecured backup.
- Multiple backups. The user can create several different backups, defining each as desired, and running them at different times as desired.
- Excellent Catalog feature. Catalog is essentially an Incremental Backup Manager. When searching an incremental backup for a file, the user designates an "As Of" date. Catalog then presents the user with several useful choices: all files, new files, modified files, deleted files, and so forth.
The new version 9.0 brings several improvements over 8.0 - more speed, a cleaner interface,and enough new bells and whistles to justify a new version.Cons
1. You have to pay for it.
2. For users not familiar with previous versions, Backup Manager does require some self-education, and at least some knowledge of Windows file and folder structure. It is not an "install it and forget it" product. Each backup created by the user does need to be defined, and needs to be scheduled.
But that's about it. For the user willing to pay for a backup product and to invest a little time learning how to use it, Backup Manger really delivers.Summary

Backups have to be reliable. Unfortunately, you cannot rely on this application's backups. After configuring which files and folders I wanted backed up, the first backup was successful. Every subsequent backup left out some of the selected files and folders. When I went back to look at the configuration, the selection list was corrupted and did not show all of the selections.
The next day, I entered a support ticket identifying the issue and requesting a refund. The support person's emails were polite but didn't address my request for a refund. I continued to request a refund and the replies from Support/Sales ceased. Take away whatever you will from my experience.
I would say that I bear most of the responsibility for not thoroughly testing the app using a trial version. However, the site clearly states that they have a money-back guarantee. So far, they have not stood behind that money-back guarantee. Since I am in the US and the company appears to be Jordanian, it is not much one can do if they choose not to refund the money.
I have since uninstalled their app and replace it with another one. The replacement runs flawlessly. I will not mention the competitor's app. Mainly becasue I don't want anyone to think that this is a ad for another backup app. These are solely my opinions from my experience with Genie Backup Manager v8.
The bottom line is that, knowing what I know now, I would not waste my time or money on this product. If you do choose to waste your time, please test it thoroughly before paying for it. -

The best thing that I can say about this software is that it loaded.
Cons
This product did not work. Each time, I ran the backup, I received error messages. It is very disappointing, particularly, since it took about 15 hours to run the backup. I tried it a second time and same thing.--error messages.
Summary
Would not recommend this backup software.
